Defending National Champion Men's Gymnastics Team Releases 2003 Schedule

Norman, Okla.-Aftering claiming their fourth national title in 2002, the University of Oklahoma's men's gymnastics team looks to repeat against one of the nation's top schedules. The face the top six teams from last year and nine of the top 12.

The season kicks off at Michigan, which finished fourth in 2002, on Jan. 18. The following weekend OU travels to the Air Force Academy for the Rocky Mountain Open, before facing Nebraska in Lincoln on February 1.

The home slate is filled with quality teams. On Feb. 14, the Sooners face Iowa at Lloyd Noble Center. They welcome Nebraska the following Friday with Stanford and Ohio State visiting two weeks later. Oklahoma finishes in Lincoln, Neb., again for the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Conference Championships.

"We are very excited about the 2003 schedule and the chance to pursue another national title. Most of the guys on the team have been training all summer long and that should boast well for us when the start of the season rolls around, " said Williams.
