ESPN The Magazine Features Sooners

Norman, Okla. - ESPN The Magazine is featuring Oklahoma on one of its four regional covers. The Sooners also pulled down the publication's No. 1 national ranking. The magazine cover features defensive tackle Tommie Harris and quarterback Jason White. The photo shoot was done at Memorial Stadium in mid-July.

ESPN The Magazine ranks a Power 16 in its preseason poll. After OU, the remainder of the ranking included No. 2 Florida State, No. 3 Miami, No. 4 Texas, No. 5 Tennessee, No. 6 Florida, No. 7 Georgia No. 8 Ohio State, No. 9 Colorado, No. 10 Washington State, No. 11 Washington, No. 11 Washington, No. 12 Oregon, No. 13 Nebraska, No. 14 Michigan State, No. 15 Virginia Tech and No. 16 LSU.

The list was compiled from experts ESPN, ESPN.com and ESPN The Magazine. The magazine projects the eight BCS teams will come from the Power 16.

The other three regional covers feature Miami, Oregon and Ohio State.

OU football was featured nationally on the covers of Sports Illustrated and The Sporting News and both of those publications also ranked the Sooners No. 1 in their preseason editions.
