Norman, Okla. - Oklahoma head women's basketball coach Sherri Coale has been invited to speak at an ESPN Newsmaker Luncheon in Bristol, Conn., on Friday, July 19. She will address the ESPN staff on her thoughts and concerns regarding women's basketball and spend the remaining time in a Q&A session.

"I'm extremely honored to be invited to speak at this event," said Coale. "This is a great opportunity for me to sell not only Oklahoma but women's basketball across the country."

Other high profile individuals that have been invited to this luncheon include: Bill Costas, Howard Cosell, Larry Stern, Arthur Ashe, Nancy Lopez, Billie Jean, Ben Bradlee, Johnny Unitas, George Will, Cedric Dempsey and Bobby Bowden.

At the conclusion of the luncheon, Coale will meet individually with Walsh.

"I think she's a super literary talent with fresh thoughts and I'd love for our colleagues to hear her views," said Walsh.
