Norman, Okla. - Several national publications have been in Norman this summer with camera lenses pointed squarely at the Sooner football players.

Sports Illustrated was in Norman with an elaborate set-up in early July. SI concentrated on the defense, but also did breakout pictures of defensive tackle Tommie Harris and the front four of Harris, Kory Klein, Jonathan Jackson and Jimmy Wilkerson.

The Sporting News came for a photo session July 17 with Harris, Wilkerson, defensive back Andre Woolfolk and quarterback Jason White. That group was featured with members of OU's spirit squad and the Sooner Schooner.

ESPN The Magazine also is in the process of putting together a photo shoot in Norman with Harris and White for one of its four regional publications.

Officials at The Sporting News and ESPN said that their shots would likely be used on the magazine cover. Sports Illustrated indicated that the shots it took were under consideration for a possible cover. All of the pictures taken are for the magazines' various preseason college football editions.

Kelley King was the Sports Illustrated reporter assigned to writing the OU story, while Tom Dienhart is doing the same for The Sporting News.

Release dates for for the publications are not yet available.
