Final Stats

Oklahoma Coach Larry Cochell
Overall
Obviously there were two different games today. You have to give them credit. We didn't pitch as well as they did. We had a chance to win, but they just played outstanding. I think that Texas has a chance to win it all, they have the whole thing out there. They have outstanding pitching, they hit for power and they have good defense. They can go a long way. You never want to lose, but I think that we are playing good baseball right now.

On Texas Pitcher Eugene Espineli
I saw him pitch on TV against A&M. He's a good college pitcher. He has a good fastball, a great curve and a great change. He doesn't give you a lot to hit.

OU Infielder Eddie Cornejo
Overall
Obviously you want to win but I thought that we got better every game during the tournament. From a player standpoint, we got better, defensively and as far as knowing what to do and communicating. I also think that we battled better in our at bats, we didn't give any away.

Texas Head Coach Augie Garrido
On playing at The Ballpark
"We have the power to hit home runs on the road. The turf at Disch-Faulk Field makes the ball speed up, has a lot of foul area and a long distance from home plate to the outfield wall. You need players with speed, power and the ability to throw the ball. Many of those players are either professional or hard to come by, but we have been lucky."

On playing Justin Simmons:
"We are not going to burn Justin up, if he is not ready we won't play him and jeopardize what is to come next weekend."

Jeff Ontiveros
"This team has a lot of depth and we hit the ball well. If we are down we pick each other back up so I have a lot of confidence in us and things to come."
