Women's Golf Team In First At The Susie Maxwell

NORMAN, Okla. - The Oklahoma women's golf team's is in first place by 13 strokes at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic, which is being held in Norman, Okla. The Sooners endured overcast conditions during most of the morning at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf course while firing rounds of 294 and 292. Baylor shot a 599 to slide into second place.

Sophomore Lisa Meldrum carded dual rounds of 70 to take the lead by four strokes. Senior Wendy Martin is in sixth place after shooting a 148, while fellow senior Jennifer Tannehill is in seventh place with a score of 149. Carding a 151 was sophomore Hope Edge who is in ninth place, with junior Allison Johnson in 14th place after shooting a 153. Sooners competing as individuals were freshman Emily Milberger in 37th place, senior Jennifer James in 57th place, senior Jaime White in 80th place and freshman Jenni Nimmo in 81st place.

The Sooners will look to defend their tournament title tomorrow morning with tee times beginning at 7:44 a.m.
