Volleyball Team Prepares To Host Spring Tournament

NORMAN, Okla. - In its final spring competition of the year, the Oklahoma volleyball team will host a six-team tournament on Saturday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Howard McCasland Field House. Participating teams include Central Oklahoma, North Texas, Southwest Missouri State, Wichita State and Texas Woman's University. The teams will play two games to 30 points.

The Sooners start the day with a 9 a.m. match against Texas Woman's University. They take on Wichita State at 11 a.m., SMS at 1 p.m and end the day with North Texas at 3 p.m.

The Sooners have been doing well this spring, going 6-2 at their last tournament on April 13 at Southern Methodist.

"We have a had a couple of good outings," said OU head coach Kalani Mahi. "The girls have been playing out of their normal positions and have been doing well. We split with SMU, a team that beat us last fall, and we beat TCU, Abilene Christian and North Texas. I feel we have been playing well, and I'm happy with the team's progress this spring."
