NORMAN, Okla. - The threatening rains early Friday morning couldn't keep the Oklahoma football team off the field later in the day as they participated in a light workout inside Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. The team scrimmaged for two hours in shoulder pads and shorts and opened practice with special teams drills before moving on to short yardage drills and ending with a regular scrimmage.
Prior to the afternoon practice, the Sooners hosted more than 500 high school coaches in the first session of a two-day coaches clinic. Coaches attending the clinic had the opportunity to observe the team's practices and workouts, sit in on lectures and learn new coaching techniques.
The Sooners will close out this week's schedule with another two hour scrimmage on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. in the stadium. The scrimmage is open to the public and fans are asked to enter the stadium in the northwest corner at Gate 11.
