Women's Golf Team Tied For Seventh Place

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's golf team is tied for seventh place at the Verizon "Mo" Morial Invitational in Bryan, Texas. The Sooners carded a 324 in the first of two rounds at the Briarcrest Country Club. The tournament, which was originally scheduled for 36 holes today, was delayed due to weather and ground conditions and has been shortened to two rounds. Sixth ranked Ohio State leads the tournament after shooting a score of 307 in its opening round.
Sophomore Lisa Meldrum paces the Sooners in 15th place with a first-round score of 79. Senior Wendy Martin shot an 81 and is currently in 29th place, while junior Allison Johnson and sophomore Hope Edge trail her by one stroke in 36th place. Senior Jennifer Tannehill shot a 91 and is currently in 90th place.
The Sooners will begin play of the final round tomorrow at 8:30 a.m.
