Women's Golf Team In Fourth Place After Weather Delay

NORMAN, Okla. - After the first round of competition the Oklahoma women's golf team is in fourth place at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Classic in Austin, Texas. The Sooners shot a 308 on the Barton Creek Lakeside course. Due to weather conditions, the field was not able to conclude play on the second round, but that round will carry over to tomorrow. Leading the field is No. 2 Duke, No. 4 Texas and No. 8 Ohio State.
Sophomore Lisa Meldrum, ranked 27th by Golfweek, leads the team with a score of 75, good for seventh place. One stroke behind Meldrum is senior Wendy Martin and junior Allison Johnson each tied for 10th place. In 33rd place is senior Jennifer Tannehill, while sophomore Hope Edge is in 72nd place. Freshman Emily Milberger, who is competing as an individual, shot an 84 and is in 49th place.
The Betsy Rawls Longhorn Classic will continue with the second and third rounds, starting tomorrow morning at 7 a.m.
