WICHITA, Kan. (AP) - Maria Villarroel scored 18 points, and 15th-ranked Oklahoma was unable to shake Wichita State until the final minutes of a 70-64 victory Monday night.
Oklahoma (7-2), which trailed 34-30 at halftime, never really took control of the game until the final 3:20, when it outscored Wichita State (4-2), 12-4.
Wichita State was led by Carlesa Dixon with 17 points.
The Shockers held their last lead at 45-44, with 13:33 left when Dixon made two free throws.
After Dixon scored from inside but missed a free throw, Villarroel hit two free throws with 36.9 seconds remaining to give Oklahoma a 67-62 lead.
The Sooners sank six free throws down the stretch - five by Villarroel. She also scored on a fast break with 2:20 left to gave Oklahoma a 65-60 lead.
The Sooners got 15 points from Dionnah Jackson, 13 from Teresa Schuknecht and 12 from Chelsi Welch.
Raeven King added 13 points and Angela Buckner 12 for the Shockers.
