Guard Young To Compete In Chunichi Cup

NORMAN, Okla. - Oklahoma men's gymnastics Assistant Coach Guard Young will compete in the 2002 Chunichi Cup International Gymnastics Competition Saturday and Sunday in Nagoya, Japan. Young will participate in the all-around finals Saturday evening and the individual event finals Sunday.

"It is a great honor to compete with some of the best gymnasts in the world, " said Young. "This is one of the most prestigious competitions in our sport and it is an honor to represent the United States."

The Cup will feature gymnasts form Russia, Korea, Japan and the United States. Russian National Champion Eveaney Kirov and Japanese National Champion Hiroyuki Tomita headline the list of international competitors.
