Women's Golf Claims Third Place At Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's golf team finished the Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate with a total of 886 to win third-place honors. The Sooners finished the last nine holes of the second round for a total of 296 and recorded a 291 in the final round. Claiming the tournament title by two strokes was Tulane University.
The 17-team field played at the 5,873-yard, par-72 Oak Point Golf Course in Kiawah Island, S.C.
Junior Hope Edge earned second-place honors with a 212, eight strokes behind tournament champion, Christine Bucher of Kansas State. Edge's second-place finish was the best of her career. Junior Lisa Meldrum finished two strokes ahead of Edge for a third-place win. Senior Allison Johnson recorded a 226 to tie for 18th place while sophomore Emily Milberger tied for 44th place with a 235. Freshman Cathryn Uselton had a total of 250 to tie for 72nd place.
This tournament concluded the fall season for the Sooners. They will resume play Feb. 10-12 at the Regional Challenge in Los Angeles.
