No. 23 Oklahoma Gets Past Fordham

HONOLULU (AP) - Maria Villarroel scored 30 points, and Theresa Schuknecht grabbed 10 rebounds Friday night to lead No. 23 Oklahoma over Fordham 90-62 in the opening round of the Rainbow Wahine Classic.

The Sooners (4-1) will face No. 11 North Carolina (3-0), an 82-66 winner over DePaul, on Saturday in the semifinals.

Villarroel was 13-of-18 from the field, relying on her speed to make breakaway layups. Caitlin Chiaramonte had 12 points and Mobolaji Akiode added 10 for Fordham (2-1).

Oklahoma shot 54 percent for the game, while making 20 of 27 free throws.

Dionnah Jackson added 14 points for the Sooners, and teammate Antoinett Wadsworth had 13.

The Rams failed to hit any of their five 3-point shots, while the Sooners were 4-of-15 from long range.
