Womens Golf Set To Compete In Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate

NORMAN, Okla. - The OU women's golf team will finish the fall season in Kiawah Island,S.C. at the Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate Nov. 4-5. The College of Charleston is hosting the tournament that will be played at the 5,873-yard, par-72 Oak Point Golf Course.
Competing for the Sooners will be Hope Edge, Allison Johnson, Lisa Meldrum, Emily Milberger and Cathryn Uselton.
The 17-team field will consist of Appalachian State, Birmingham Southern, Campbell, Charleston Southern, Cincinnati, Coastal Carolina, College of Charleston, Jacksonville State, Kansas State, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, UNC Greensboro, Oklahoma, Oregon State, Tulane and Winthrop.
Coach Ludvigson Says...
"We will be going up agains teams from the east that we don't normally play. There will be three Big 12 schools there and we are looking to compete with them head-to-head. As far as the rest of the field, there is only one team competing there that is ranked higher than us so we are really looking to win a team title and individual title."
Sooners Place Seventh at Price's Give Em Five Intercollegiate
The Oklahoma women's golf team finished in seventh place at the Price's Give Em Five Intercollegiate in Las Cruces, N.M., Oct. 7-9. The Sooners' 919 was 25 strokes behind tournament champion Baylor. The 20-team field played at the 6,303-yard, par-72 University Golf Course.
Juniors Lisa Meldrum and Hope Edge both tied for 11th place with a total of 225. Senior Allison Johnson recorded a 233 to tie for 39th place while sophomore Emily Milberger tied for 49th with a total of 236. Freshman Erin Goranson shot a 249 to tie for 91st place. It marked Goranson's first collegiate tournament.
