Women's Golfers In Fifth Place After Second Round In New Mexico

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's golf team improved to fifth place at Price's Give Em Five Collegiate tournament after recording a second-round score of 297 today for a total of 611 in Las Cruces, N.M. The Sooners tail tournament leader and host New Mexico State by 15 strokes. The 20-team field is playing at the 6,303-yard, par-72 University Golf Course.
Junior Lisa Meldrum is tied for eighth place with a two-round score of 149 after recording a 75 today. Junior Hope Edge is tied for 20th with a score of 153 after shooting a second-round 73 while Senior Allison Johnson is tied for 26th place with a total of 154 after carding a 73 today, eight strokes better than her Monday round. Sophomore Emily Milberger shot a 76 today for a two-round score of 156 and is tied for 41st place. Freshman Erin Goranson's second-round 82 gives her 165 strokes and an 84th-place standing.
Oklahoma will conclude the tournament Wednesday with an 8 a.m. (MST) start.
