NORMAN, Okla. - A trend is developing with the Oklahoma volleyball team. As they did against Kansas last Saturday (Oct. 26), the Sooners struggled in the first two games before coming out strong in the final game. Texas A&M stemmed the Sooner tide and won the match in three games over Oklahoma, 30-22, 30-21, 32-30 tonight in front of over a thousand fans inside the G. Rollie White Coliseum. With the loss OU falls to 4-16 on season (2-10 Big 12), while Texas A&M improved to 14-7 (6-6).

"I was proud of the way we battled back tonight and adjusted," said OU Head Coach Kalani Mahi. "Unfortunately we came out slow. Once the team convinced themselves they could play with, and beat this team we played pretty well. Jennifer Mosso stepped up for us tonight, which was important because some of our veterans are battling nagging injuries."

Mosso, a freshman middle blocker, led OU with 10 kills while hitting .269 (10K-3E-26TA). The match marked the first time in Mosso's career, that she has put up double-digit kills in consecutive games. She had 11 against Kansas.

Junior outside hitter Christina Barlow pounded out nine kills and sophomore middle blocker Candice Woods dropped eight kills on Texas A&M. Senior outside hitter Denise Griffin collected a team-high 11 digs. Senior setter Jessica Barney set up 33 assists and dug 10 balls for her second consecutive double-double.

A&M was led by senior outside hitter Carol Price who registered 17 kills and hit .552 (17-1-29). Three other Aggies were in double-digits in kills helping A&M hit .298 (64-22-141) on the night.

A&M has lost one home match this season to No. 4 Nebraska.

"I don't think we came out nervous at all," said Mahi. "We weren't worried about the environment. We just had to convince ourselves that we could put A&M away."

OU was up 24-17 in game three before the Aggies rallied all the way back to tie the game. The Sooners served twice for game point and were one swing and kill away from the victory late in the final set.

Oklahoma returns home this weekend for "Super Sooner Saturday" (Nov.2), when the Sooners match up against No. 21 Missouri. The match begins at 7 p.m., just minutes after the expected finish of the football team's game with No. 12 Colorado. As a part of the promotions for "Super Sooner Saturday" no admission will be charged at the volleyball match.

Saturday night's home match will be broadcast live through SoonerSports.com, as will all the remaining home matches. To view the live video feed, simply click on the "Streaming Match Feed" button on the right side of the volleyball home page.
