Home Run Club Banquet to Open Oklahoma Baseball Season

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma baseball program will kick off its 2002 season with the Home Run Club Banquet, to be held on Thurs., Feb. 7, at the Holiday Inn on Interstate Drive and Robinson Street in Norman. Oklahoma head coach Larry Cochell and the 2002 Sooners will be in attendance, as will guest speaker George Frazier, a baseball letterman at OU in the mid-1970s, a former major leaguer and the current television analyst for the Colorado Rockies.

The Sooners begin their season the following afternoon as they host Arkansas-Little Rock at L. Dale Mitchell Park at 3 p.m. OU welcomes back 10 talented veterans and has the 11th-best incoming class of newcomers in the nation, according to Collegiate Baseball magazine.

The cost to attend is $15 and reservations may be made by contacting the Oklahoma baseball office at (405) 325-8355.
