Stoops, Nine Sooner Players Headed For All-Star Games

Norman, Okla. - Ten representatives from Oklahoma's football program, including head coach Bob Stoops, will be involved in post-season all-star games. Stoops will be the head coach for the South team in the Hula Bowl, while nine Sooner players will participate in either that game or the Senior Bowl.

The Senior Bowl, set for Jan. 26, in Mobile, Ala., will include OU linebackers Rocky Calmus, winner of the 2001 Butkus Award, and Brandon Moore.

The Hula Bowl, which will be played in Wailuku, Maui, Hawai'i on Feb. 2, will showcase seven Oklahoma players. Sooners scheduled to play in that game include OL Howard Duncan, K Tim Duncan, P Jeff Ferguson, DE Cory Heinecke, DL Bary Holleyman, WR Josh Norman and OT Frank Romero.

Stoops is scheduled to be assisted at the Hula Bowl by former Florida head coach Steve Spurrier. The North head coach is Oregon State's Dennis Erickson and his assistant is Colorado State's Sonny Lubick.
