NORMAN, Okla. - The Oklahoma volleyball team lost its third match of the Cowgirl Classic in Laramie, Wyo., to Texas-Arlington in three games (30-22, 30-21, 30-23), to drop to 1-6 on the season while the Mavericks move to 3-5.
The Sooners struggled offensively, being held to a .089 hitting percentage as a team. Freshman Alexia McWhinney led OU with eight kills and four blocks assists. The Mavericks had three players in double digits in kills, while hitting .290 as a team.
Sophomore Christina Barlow had a team-high six digs while junior Jessica Barney led the team with 27 assists.
Oklahoma will round out tournament play with Idaho State at 5:00 p.m. This will be the first meeting between the two teams in the program history.
The Sooners begin their home stand at 7 p.m., Sept.12, against #18 Texas A&M at the OU Field House.
