NORMAN, Okla. - The majority of Oklahoma cable systems will offer Saturday's OU-North Texas college football game to their customers on a pay-per-view basis, as well as OU's Sept. 15 game against Tulsa. Suggested retail price is $24.95 each for the 6:30 CDT kickoffs from Memorial Stadium in Norman.

Big 12 Special Order Sports, Fox Sports Net's pay-per-view division, is producing and distributing the telecasts to participating Oklahoma cable systems. Bill Land (play-by-play), Gary Reasons (analyst) and Mick Cornett (sideline reporter) will call the action.

Fox Sports Net acquired the pay-per-view rights too the OU-North Texas game and the OU-Tulsa contest when those games were not selected for over-the-air broadcast, syndication or cable television distribution. Under conference TV rules, games not picked up for broadcast, syndication or cable telecasts can only be televised on a pay-per-view basis in the participating teams' home states.

"We're giving fans an option to watch games that they otherwise wouldn't be able to see in person or on television at an affordable price," said Fox Sports Net Senior Vice President/General Manager Jon Heidtke, noting that the games are sold out. "We want to give as many Sooners fans as possible an opportunity to watch their team."

Participating cable systems will offer the telecasts to their customers on a designated pay-per-view channel. The telecasts will not pre-empt Fox Sports Net's regularly scheduled programming.

A toll-free number (1-888-9-SOONERS) has been established for customers interested in purchasing the telecasts or to inquire about the availability of the games in their area. Customers will be connected to their local cable company to purchase the games or to ask their cable company if they have plans to make the games available to them.

Both the OU-North Texas and OU-Tulsa games will be replayed on Fox Sports Net early the next morning. The OU-North Texas game will air Sunday at 2 a.m. CDT while the OU-Tulsa contest will air Sunday, Sept. 16, also at 2 a.m. CDT.
