NORMAN, Okla. - The Big 12 Conference announced today that OU's Oct. 6 football game versus Texas will be televised by ABC Sports. The contest, to be played at 2:30 p.m. CDT at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, will feature a pair of teams that are ranked in the top five nationally. OU is ranked third in both polls while Texas is ranked fifth.
Last year, Oklahoma jumped to a 42-0 first-half lead against the Longhorns and posted a 63-14 win. Quentin Griffin set an OU record with six rushing touchdowns in the game.
Two other Big 12 games will air on television Oct. 6. The Fox Big 12 syndication game of the week will pit Colorado against Kansas State in Manhattan, Kan., at 11:30 a.m. while the Fox Sports Net national telecast will feature Iowa State at Nebraska at 6 p.m.
