NORMAN, Okla. - The Oklahoma football team worked out twice on Tuesday and is now focused on Wednesday night's scrimmage, to be held at Memorial Stadium at approximately 6 p.m. Head coach Bob Stoops has been pleased with the hustle and improvement shown by his squad to date and hopes that trend carries over to the head-to-head workouts.

"It was another good, solid day," said Stoops of Tuesday's practices. "We're keeping guys healthy and practicing well. We're picking things up really well."

Wednesday will mark the first day the football team will work out in full pads, and Stoops hopes the open scrimmage will give the Sooner coaching staff a better feel for how veterans and newcomers alike respond in game situations.

"We're going to come out and stretch, do a little warm-up and get after it a little bit," said Stoops. "We'll work some situations and then we'll move the football. It will be mostly ones (first team) versus twos (second team), we'll also have some ones versus ones."

Junior Andre Woolfolk continued to work on both sides of the football, and will play both roles during Wednesday's scrimmage. He worked with the defense in Tuesday's morning drills and at receiver in the evening.

"He'll play defense mostly," said Stoops of his multi-talented star, "but we'll give him some offense too. Nobody's in better condition than Andre, so if anyone can (play both ways), he could."

Wednesday night's scrimmage will be the first of two workouts open to the public this week. The squad will be put through its paces Saturday night at 6:30, also at Memorial Stadium.
