NORMAN, Okla. - Oklahoma head football coach Bob Stoops is still out of town as one of his children undergoes a medical procedure away from Norman. He released the following statement today.

"Carol and I are pleased and excited about the outcome of the procedure that was done. It's still early, but it appears everything has gone as well as could be expected. There will obviously be several days of recovery, but we're very optimistic that things are going to be fine and back to normal in just a little while. Our family also wants to say thank you to all of the people who have shown us so much concern and support."

The OU coach said he will return to Norman as events dictate, hopefully some time in the next two days.
