Football Media Day Set For Friday

NORMAN, Okla. - With the 2001 football season less than a month away, the University of Oklahoma's annual Media Day has been set for Friday, Aug. 3. Coach Stoops will meet with media at 9 a.m. and then players and assistant coaches will be available for interviews on Owen Field until 10:30 a.m.

The fan portion of the event will begin at approximately 10:30 a.m. on the practice fields south of Owen Field and will end promptly at 11:30 a.m. due to other scheduled team activities that day. OU players and coaches will be available for autographs, but fans will be limited to one signed item per player or coach.

Fans are encouraged to use the parking lots east and south of Memorial Stadium and must enter through the practice field gate southeast of the Barry Switzer Center (corner of Jenkins Ave. and Lindsey St.).

Additionally, OU's annual Fan Appreciation Day will be held Saturday, Aug. 11. More information on the event will be released soon.

The Sooners begin defense of their national title Saturday, Aug. 25 when they host North Carolina at 6:45 p.m. in the Hispanic College Fund Football Classic. The game will air nationally on ESPN.
