Lady Golfers Move Into Eighth Place After Second Round

NORMAN, Okla. -- The Oklahoma women's golf team concluded the second round of the NCAA Central Regional in eighth place. The Sooners, who are seeded sixth, shot a 306 to improve their score by eight strokes. The top eight teams will advance to the National Championships at the Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.

Junior Wendy Martin led the Sooners with a score of 74 to move into a tie for 25th place with freshman Lisa Meldrum who carded a 76. Junior Jennifer Tannehill and redshirt-freshman Hope Edge both recorded a score of 78, while sophomore Allison Johnson shot a 79.

OU will tee off in the final round at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday.
