NORMAN, Okla. - The Oklahoma Sooners marked the midway point of spring football drills with a two-hour scrimmage inside Memorial Stadium on Saturday morning. With ideal conditions and more than 5,000 fans scattered throughout the lower stadium, the Sooners worked on their entire package including special teams and field goals.

"From beginning to end, I thought that this was the best total effort that our players have turned in this spring," noted OU head coach Bob Stoops. "There were plenty of reasons to be happy today, however we still need to limit the penalties and mental mistakes. Overall this was the end of a good week of work."

The Sooners will continue spring practice next week with workouts on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons at the OU practice fields. There will be no scrimmage next Saturday due to the Easter holiday.
