Oklahoma Lady Golfers in Second After Two Rounds

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's golf team finished the first two rounds of the Verizon "Mo"Morial Invitational in second place at the Pine Forest Country Club in Houston. The Sooners started the day off with a first-round score of 310 and came back to fire a 303 in the second. Indiana is in first place with a score of 603. Junior Allison Johnson is leading the tournament with a score of 145, while tying her career low round with a 71.

Two other Sooners are in the top 20, junior Wendy Martin and freshman Lisa Meldrum shot a 155 to tie for 18th place. Junior Betsy Berry, who is competing as an individual, is in 27th place after carding a 157 and on stroke behind her is redshirt freshman Hope Edge in 32nd place. Junior Jennifer Tannehill carded a 162 for 48th place.

OU will tee off in the final round at 6,032-yard, 72-par Pine Forest C.C. tomorrow at 8:30 a.m.
