Roy Williams is a junior safety on the OU football team who earned first-team All-Big 12 honors last season when the Sooners went 13-0 and won their seventh national title. Williams compiled 93 tackles, the third most on the squad, as well as four sacks, two interceptions, nine pass deflections and six quarterback hurries. In 1999, The Sporting News named the Union City, Calif., product to its freshman All-America team.

Why did you choose OU?
I knew some of the other players in my recruiting class and it was better for me to go someplace where I already knew some people. I was also impressed with the facilities and academic center.

List something about you that would surprise people:
I'm not one of those guys who like to go out and stay out late. I enjoy my time away from class and football - the quiet time that I find at home.
