NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's golf team, which is ranked 12th by Mastercard, will start the final round in third place after shooting 604 at the Dr. Thompson rainbow Tournament in Honolulu, Hawaii. OU trails second ranked Arizona by 10 strokes and Oklahoma State by three strokes. Natalie Gulbis of Arizona and Christi Cano of Oklahoma State are currently tied for the lead with a score of 142.
Freshman Lisa Meldrum is tied for sixth place with a score of 148, while junior Wendy Martin is in eighth place with a score of 150. Sophomore Allison Johnson carded a 152 for 16th place and junior Jennifer James, who is competing as an individual is in 22nd place after carding a 154. Junior Betsy Berry is currently tied with fellow junior Marsha Gonzaga, who is competing as an individual, for 35th place after shooting a 156. Redshirt Freshman Hope Edge carded a 162 and is currently in 56th place.
Oklahoma will commence the third and final round tomorrow at 7:30 HST. The next outing for the Sooners will be April 9-10 when they host the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic.
