Oklahoma Head Coach Sherri Coale:
"This is a very big win for our program. It puts us in the driver's seat in the Big 12. We're back in control of our own destiny, and we haven't had that luxury the last couple of weeks. I don't think it was our best basketball. If we make free throws, it could have been a great score. Anytime you can beat a team in the Top 10, it's great for your program. This game was of national significance, but we know it's not smooth sailing from here."
On OU's post defense:
"I thought our post players did a great job. They were really battling to get in front in of Plenette Pierson, not to let her catch the ball. That was part of our game plan, not to let her get comfortable. When she gets comfortable, she's really good and they (Texas Tech) need her to get comfortable."
On the Sooners' transition game:
"We executed well. That's part of the chemistry we have been building. We seem to know where each other will be. Sunny (Hardeman) pushing the ball up the floor really got us going. There were three possessions where she really hurt them with the diagonal pass. Our transition was a team effort."
On the tragedy of the Oklahoma State men's basketball team:
"Obviously, this is a terrible tragedy to happen to any team. It's difficult when you know the people and families involved. We've thought about Texas Tech for the last three days and it's been hard to think about anything other than this tragedy for the last 24 hours. It really reminds you about what's important."
Junior Guard Stacey Dales
"I thought it was incredibly important that we stopped any kind of momentum Texas Tech tried to build. Three weeks ago, that was our problem. Ever since the Iowa State game, we've established ourselves.
We push the ball so well in the game because that's what we practice. We go over it so much that it becomes redundant, but it does pay off.
If you want to give anybody credit in this game, give it to Sunny Hardeman. Her ability to push the ball over the defense was a key to the victory."
Sophomore Forward Caton Hill
"The reason for my offense today was our guards' ability to get me the ball in good areas. In certain games, I just feel it and, today, I did."
Texas Tech Head Coach Marsha Sharp
"First of all, I told our media earlier in the week that I really felt like Oklahoma was playing better than any team in our conference right now. They are playing with so much confidence and they have so many weapons to come and attack you with and they didn't do anything today to change my mind about that. Every time that we made a mistake they made us pay for it and I thought they were outstanding on both ends of the floor. I was a little disappointed at how we handled their pressure early in the game. I felt like we really weren't disciplined in our attack and we really didn't try and run very good offensive looks to try and get the ball where we wanted it. We got a little rattled and tried to go one-on-one to much and I really don't think that is a good plan against a great basketball team."
"This was a big game and they knew it was a big game. They have experienced players and they stepped up and made the plays that they had to. We would make a great run at them and then they would come down with a three-point play to answer that. It is frustrating to fight your way back into it and then you are right back where you started."
On Stacey Dales and LaNeishea Caufield:
"They are terrific players. We have several teams in the Big 12 conference with pretty good combinations and they are one of them. They are so hard to handle on both ends of the floor. I think that they play with so much confidence and have so much experience that they kind of separate Oklahoma in some ways from other people."
