NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - For a while, it looked like No. 8 Oklahoma might stumble at home against No. 24 Baylor.

But the Sooners made key plays down the stretch to hold off the Bears for an 86-76 victory Wednesday night.

"We had a bad stretch there in the second half when we let Baylor back in the game, but I thought we battled through the adversity," said Stacey Dales, who finished with 10 points and a game-high 13 assists for Oklahoma (22-4, 13-1, Big 12).

"A lot of people stepped up for this team tonight, and that's so important this time of the season."

The Sooners led by as much as 48-30 late in the first half, but the Lady Bears' inside attack got them back in it with a 25-9 run that produced their first lead at 62-60.

After Danielle Crockrom put Baylor (18-7, 7-7) on top for the first time with a pair of free throws with just under 12 minutes remaining, the teams traded the lead four times during the next six minutes.

Talbert, whose previous career high was 13 on two different occasions, scored twice to put the Sooners back on top 70-66.

Oklahoma trailed 72-71 with 6:35 remaining before Jamie Talbert put the Sooners on top 73-72. Talbert finished with a career-high 21 points.

Baylor scored with 4:25 remaining to take a 76-75 lead, which would be their last of the game.

Caton Hill's basket put the Sooners up for good 77-76 at the 4:12 mark. Hill later scored six of the Sooners' final nine points.

"Baylor was fantastic. In the second half, they took advantage of our foul trouble," Oklahoma coach Sherri Coale said. "But we made the plays when we had to and that's what good teams do."

Oklahoma is in first place in the Big 12 Conference and seems to be playing its best basketball of the year. The Sooners have gotten big games from different players in winning a school-record 13 consecutive games.

"Rosalind hit that big 3-pointer, Caton finished so strong and Jamie Talbert was just great," Dales said. "You couldn't ask for anything more from Jamie in that situation."

Sheila Lambert scored 23 points, while Crockrom added 18 points and six rebounds for Baylor.
