Norman, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma football program, Norman Public Schools, Feed the Children and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes will join efforts this Saturday prior to the OU-Texas A&M football game to sponsor the Sooner Football/FCA Holiday Food Drive.

Food donations may be dropped off at six locations around Memorial Stadium beginning at 9 a.m, until kickoff at 11 a.m. Drop-off locations will be manned by representatives from the Norman Public Schools, Feed the Children, OU FCA and the Norman North High School FCA.

"Our football team feels very strongly in its support of this project," said OU head coach Bob Stoops. "This is a way for our team and our fans to have a direct impact on others. It's an ideal way for our program to give back to the community and I'm confident our Sooner family will rally together to help others in need."

The food that is gathered will be distributed to Norman elementary school students, designated by a school administrator, and their families. Any additional food will be distributed by Feed the Children in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area.

Last year, more than 250 families benefitted from the food drive.

Cash donations also will be accepted. Those can be sent to FCA, PO Box 1613, Norman, OK 73070. Checks should be made out to FCA and designated for the food drive. For additional information, call 405/366-6405.
