NORMAN, Okla. - In its third and final match of the week, the University of Oklahoma volleyball team (2-28, 1-16 Big 12) will take on No. 25 Colorado (16-9, 11-6 Big 12) on Saturday, Nov. 17. Match time is set for 2 p.m. at the Coors Events Conference Center.
Colorado holds a 25-9 advantage over the Sooners in the all-time series, dating back to 1975. Oklahoma last defeated the Buffs, 3-2, on Nov. 2, 1996. CU won the first match of the season series, 3-0, in Norman.
Sophomore Logan Pierce leads the Sooners into the weekend with 3.14 kills per game and 2.41 digs per game. Freshman Candice Woods is averaging a team-best 0.80 blocks per game, while freshman Gretchen French follows with 0.75 bpg. Freshman Emily Kincaid and junior Jessica Barney remain strong at the service line with 0.42 and 0.41 service aces per game, respectively.
Twenty-fifth ranked Colorado, coming a 3-0 loss to Texas, is led by Monique Gerlach, who averages 3.68 kills per game, and Sonja Russell, who averages 3.74 digs per game. Meghan Barkman holds a team-high .356 hitting percentage and a team-best 1.40 blocks per game.
The Sooners play their last home match against Iowa State on Wednesday, Nov. 21. Match time is set for 7 p.m. at the Howard McCasland Field House.
