Final Stats

Oklahoma Coach Bob Stoops
On The Game
It was an excellent football game today. I know our team is very pound of the way we competed. We played in a great game and went after it. I really have no reservations. I think our players played four quarters of football and went after it in a great way. Our hats are off to Nebraska. We want to compliment them in a big way for in the end, making more plays than we did. That's a compliment. I don't ever say that we could have won if we made more plays. They made a few more than we did, and that's what mattered. I thought it was a very good, clean, hard fought football game all around. It was well coached by both sides.

On The Feeling Of Losing
In the end, losing is a strange feeling in our locker room, on what to feel. Because we haven't experienced this in quite a while. I am very proud of our assistants and our players and the way they competed and to play the way they played. They realize that we still have a great season ahead of us, with four more games, one out of conference and three Big 12 South games ahead of us. We have got a lot to play for and to look forward to, and we realize that. So our players are still strong in the locker room and upbeat and understand that we will live to fight another day. The future looks good in the way we are playing.

On Nebraska And The Atmosphere
A great complement to Nebraska in playing an excellent football game. It was a great atmosphere. The crowd was fantastic. Everything about it, I felt it was just great to be a part of it. But I wish we would have won it.

On Quarterback Jason White
He's hurt fairly significantly. It's one of those where we will see and have to wait and get everything checked out tomorrow. It appears to be a pretty good injury.

On White Returning To The Game
How effective Jason would have been, I don't know? That's something where we didn't know. Until we know further exactly what everything is, we didn't want to get him in a situation to hurt it anymore.

On Any Adjustments Made With A New QB
I think it is fairly obvious that our offense doesn't change no matter who's in there. We run the same plays, regardless of one guy being a hair more elusive than the other. We run the same offense and Nate (Hybl) is capable as running as well. We don't change anything. I think that was fairly evident that it doesn't ever throw us off.

On Shutting Down Eric Crouch And His Touchdown Reception
In the end, we played a great defensive game. Maybe, overall, better than we did a year ago. But in the end,on our reverse throw back, our guy fell down and we couldn't complete it. Their's went and completed for a touchdown and there's the game. It's a swing of 14 points. There's more to it than that, but when I saw him running down the sideline, I almost had to half chuckle to myself, I'll be a son-of-a-gun. There's worked, and ours didn't.

On Punting Rather Than Attempting A 53-Yard Field Goal
I almost did kick it. Our defense had played so well. I felt pinning them down there, we would have a chance. We just didn't do it. We had a chance to. We had them stopped on a third down and they call us for a face mask.

Oklahoma Player Quotes

Quarterback Nate Hybl
On Oklahoma's Effort
It was a hard-fought game all the way around. Did we not score in the second half? That can't happen. That's the bottom line. The defense, as always, hung in there and kept us in the ball game. We just have to make it happen.

On Oklahoma's Reverse Pass
It was a great play. We just didn't execute. I'm not sure what happened, but I tried to come back for it and I kind of got stuck in the turf. They (Nebraska) executed it and we didn't.

On The Rest Of The Season
We have a very good football team. All of our goals are still sitting out there in front of us.

Defensive End Jimmy Wilkerson
On Nebraska's Reverse Pass
We read it as a reverse. We weren't expecting a play like that. We weren't prepared for it. We didn't see it on film. There was really nothing we could do about that.

Tight End Trent Smith
On The Game Overall
I thought Nebraska played a great game. There's nothing I can say. It's all in our heads. We didn't come up with plays. That's just the way it went.

On The Rest Of The Season
We're not out of anything. We could wind up playing these guys. We have Tulsa next week. We have to focus on that, and then try to get to Dallas for the Big 12 Championship game. You never know what might happen. We have to get there first. That's our main focus.

Fullback Quentin Griffin
On Oklahoma's Effort
I think we played pretty good, but we didn't make enough plays. We had some opportunities to put the ball in the end zone. We just didn't do it. I think we fought hard. They just made more plays than us.

On The Rest Of The Season
I think losing is disappointing, but it's a long season. We just have to continue to go out and improve. Hopefully, we can turn it around. It's possible that we could meet these guys again, but we've got to take it one game at a time. We'll see what happens.
