Sooner Golfers Fifth Heading Into Final Round

NORMAN, Okla. - The OU women's golf team is positioned in fifth place after the second round of the Comcast-Dick McGuire Invitational at the 6,069 yard, par-73 UNM Championship Golf Course in Albuquerque, N.M. OU finished day two with a score of 305 to bring its two-day total to 609. The Sooners are 25 shots over par heading into the final day.
Taking charge of first place was Pepperdine with a two-round score of 589. Arizona dropped to second place with a 590, while Tulsa remained in third place with a 592.
For the second consecutive day, junior Jennifer James paced the Sooners with a score of 74, keeping her in eighth place. Junior Wendy Martin has recorded 152 strokes (+6) to improve to 24th and sophomore Allison Johnson, competing as an individual has totaled 154 (+8) and is in 35th place. Junior Betsy Berry stands in 42nd place with a 155 (+9), while freshman Lisa Meldrum has shot a 156 (+10). Redshirt-freshman Hope Edge is in 65th place with a 159 (+13).
The Sooners conclude tournament action Saturday with a morning tee time of 8:30.
