Dales Leads Canada With 17 points

NORMAN - For the second time in three games, Oklahoma junior Stacey Dales paced her home country of Canada in scoring with a team-high 17 points. However, Canada suffered a 70-58 loss to France in its third preliminary contest of the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia, on Tuesday. The loss drops the Canadians to an overall record to 1-2 and puts them in a must win game against Slovakia Thursday in order to keep the possibility open of advancing to the medal round of women's basketball.

The 6-0 point guard also grabbed five rebounds, dished out two assists, had one steal and shot 50 percent (8-of-16) from the field in 32 minutes of action. The Brockville, Ontario, native is averaging 12.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 29.3 minutes per game. In addition, she is shooting 48.6 percent (18-of-37) from the field.
