OU Newcomers Participate in First Day of Football Practice

NORMAN, Okla. - OU newcomers, including freshmen, junior college transfers and walk-ons competed in their first day football practice, including morning and afternoon sessions, in the 100-plus degree heat today. The newcomers will take the day off tomorrow for academic orientation and will continue practice on Monday with morning and afternoon sessions. Upperclassmen report on Tuesday and media day will be held on Wednesday. Players and coaches will be available for autographs on media day beginning at 10:30 a.m.

"It was fun to be out again practicing," stated OU Head Coach Bob Stoops. "Guys came out and really looked good, an impressive group of freshmen."
