Austin Mix Receives Freshman All-America Honor

NORMAN, Okla. - Oklahoma starting pitcher Austin Mix was named to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America first team, as announced by Collegiate Baseball today. A second team All-Big 12 selection, Mix was one of 12 first year pitchers in the country selected for the recognition by the national publication. Mix completed his freshman campaign with a 10-2 record and a 4.92 ERA, including 95 strikeouts in 106 innings pitched.

The Coppell, Texas, native led the 41-23 Sooners in wins, innings pitched, starts (15) and strikeouts, while also appearing amongst the Big 12 Conference leaders in wins (sixth), strikeouts (sixth), opponents batting average (ninth) and innings pitched (ninth) . Mixs 10 wins tied former OU standout Bobby Witt (1984) for most wins by a freshman in school history.
