NORMAN, Okla. - The NCAA announced that the University of Oklahoma will host the 2002 NCAA Men's Gymnastics Championships at the Lloyd Noble Center. It will mark the first time a national championship has been held in the city of Norman since the 1977 NCAA Wrestling Championships.

"We're extremely excited for the opportunity to host the national championships for the first time," said OU Head Coach Mark Williams. "We've never hosted the national championships in the history of the OU program. By having the NCAAs at home, it will create an opportunity to contend for the team title and have a large fan base. We look forward to putting on an outstanding event."

The dates for the championships are yet to be determined.
