NORMAN, Okla. -- Centerfielder Jerome Godsey led seven Sooners with multi-hit performances with a 3-for-5 night at the plate as Oklahoma defeated Missouri, 11-3, Saturday night at L. Dale Mitchell Park. Oklahoma starting pitcher Evan Greusel improved to 4-0 as the sophomore struck out a career high 10 batters and pitched his first career complete game. The win pushed OU's overall record to 33-18 and 16-9 in the Big 12 Conference as Missouri fell to 29-19 overall and 10-12 in the league with the loss.
OU jumped on the board quickly by posting four runs in the bottom of the first inning, as the first four batters in the Sooner lineup came around to score. After scoring a single run in the second inning, Oklahoma scored for the third consecutive inning as rightfielder Jeff Bajenaru (2-for-5) leadoff the third inning with a home run. The Sooners knocked in four more runs in the fifth inning, before closing out the scoring in the seventh with a single run.
Missouri third baseman Landon Brandes (1-for-4) drove in two of the Tigers three runs in the game. Pete Sansone (5-1) was charged with the loss for the Tigers after surrendering seven earned runs in 4.1 innings of work.
The two teams meet tomorrow for a 2 p.m. game at L. Dale Mitchell Park.
