COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Oklahoma Sooner baseball team defeated the Texas A&M Aggies, 5-1, on Sunday afternoon at Pat Olsen Field to complete their first conference road series sweep since 1994. Michael Bradbury (3-0) picked up the win for OU, who improved to 23-14 overall and 9-6 in the Big 12 Conference, after pitching eight innings and surrendering only five hits. The Aggies fell to 21-19 overall and 10-8 in the league with the loss.
Shortstop Tommy Whiteman led the Sooner offense with a 2-for-3 performance and two runs scored. Second baseman Zach Lekse extended his career-high hitting streak to 17 games with a base hit in his final at bat of the game. Rightfielder Jeff Bajenaru, who also came in to relieve Bradbury in the ninth inning, contributed a 2-for-4 outing with a run scored and one RBI.
Leftfielder Carlos Sepulveda (2-for-4) accounted for the Aggies lone run of the game with a solo homer in the bottom of the second inning. Starting pitcher Matt Berry (0-2) was charged with the loss for Texas A&M after giving up all five runs.
The Sooners host the ninth-ranked Houston Cougars at L. Dale Mitchell Park at 6:35 p.m. on Tuesday.
