Defense Dominates Football Scrimmage

NORMAN, Okla. - In Oklahoma's second spring football scrimmage, the Sooner defense batted down several passes, intercepted one ball and collected what would have been 12 sacks had the OU quarterbacks been live targets. The lone interception was a diving catch by defensive tackle Ramon Richardson off a pass deflected by Torrance Marshall. Marshall also had three sacks. Darryl Bright and Brandon Moore also added two sacks each.

Offensively, OU scored eight touchdowns but most came late in the scrimmage during short-yardage drills. Sophomore Nate Hybl led the Sooners in passing with 146 yards and two touchdowns on 12-of-18 passing. Patrick Fletcher also added a touchdown pass and a touchdown run. Quinton Griffin led the team in rushing with 73 yards on 11 carries. He also found the end zone twice. Receiver Curtis Fagan caught three passes, including touchdown receptions of 35 and 15 yards while Andre Woolfolk caught three balls for a team-high 73 yards.

Oklahoma will conclude spring practice next week with drills scheduled for Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. The weekday practices are slated to begin at 4 p.m. and are open to the public. Spring practice will culminate with the annual Red/White Spring Game held on Saturday at 1 p.m.
