Sooner Golfers Rewarded For Academic Drive

DALLAS - The Big 12 Conference offices honored 46 student-athletes Tuesday as they named the 2000 Women's Golf Academic All-Big 12 Team. Four Sooners were named to the first team, which consists of those who have maintained a 3.2 or better grade-point average in the two previous semesters and who have competed in at least 60 percent of competition throughout the year nominated.
Sooners honored for their work inside the classroom include senior Isabelle Blais, sophomore Jennifer James, sophomore Wendy Martin and sophomore Jennifer Tannehill. Blais and James who major in International Business and Management Information Systems, respectively were given special recognition as they were two of only four athletes in the conference to post a 4.0 G.P.A. This is the second time James and Tannehill have been selected to the team.
