Women's Golf In Tie For Fifth At Rainbow Wahine Invitational

WAIMANAOLO, Oahu - After the second day of play at the 15th-Annual Dr. Donnis Thompson Rainbow Wahine Invitational in Waimanaolo, Oahu, the University of Oklahoma women's golf team stands in a tie for fifth with Hawaii at 630 (+54). OU took two strokes off of yesterday's performance to finish the second round at 314, while the Rainbow Wahine turned in a 311 after posting a 319 during the opening round.
Senior Jaime Dello-Russo added a 79 to her first day 78 and is tied with five others at 157 (+13). Sophomore Wendy Martin came in one shot behind Dello-Russo's pace with an 80, which places her in a five-way tie for 27th at 158 (+14). After shooting an 81 yesterday, freshman Allison Johnson got back on course with a 77 in order to join the group tied at 27th. Sophomore Betsy Berry dropped into a tie for 36th after combining an 81 with a 79 to finish at sixteen-over-par, 160. Behind the best second round of her spring season, 78, sophomore Jennifer James jumped from 54th to 41st at 162 (+18). Sophomore Jennifer Tannehill and senior Isabelle Blais competed as individuals and had rounds of 87 and 89, respectively. Tannehill is tied for 51st at 168 (+24), while Blais is tied for 68th with 175 strokes (+31).
The Invitational will conclude tomorrow with tee times set for 7:30 a.m. HST.
