Ft. Worth, Texas - The Oklahoma versus TCU baseball game was suspended because of inclement weather Tuesday afternoon with the Sooners leading the Horned Frogs, 10-8, entering the sixth inning in Fort Worth, Texas. The two teams will resume play on April 4 when TCU visits Norman for a previously scheduled matchup.
OU scored runs of four, two and four, respectively, through the first three innings off TCU pitchers Mark Hamilton and Shaun Wooley. The Horned Frogs countered with two runs in the first and cut the lead to the final two-run margin with five runs in the third and added one more in the fifth.
The top half of the Sooner lineup paced the offense by accounting for nine of the 10 runs scored and five of the RBIs in the game. Third baseman Jason Bartlett, centerfielder Jerome Godsey and shortstop Tommy Whiteman each collected two hits on the afternoon. Freshman righthander Austin Mix started his first game on the season pitching 2.1 innings and giving up four runs before being relieved by sophomore righthander Clint Dunbar who pitched the final 2.2 innings before the game was halted.
The Horned Frogs took advantage of four walks issued to score half of their runs and collected three more on a three-run home run by third baseman Levi Groomer.
