Sooners To Appear At Crossroads Mall

NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma head women's basketball coach Sherri Coale will host a youth basketball clinic at the Crossroads Mall on Saturday, Nov. 11, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. The clinic is free of charge and open to all children in the eighth grade or younger. Paricipants will learn the basic basketball skills of dribbling, ball handling and shooting.

Coale, last year's Big 12 Conference Coach of the Year, led her Sooners to a school record 25 victories (25-8) as well as a share of the Big 12 regular season title and an apperance in the NCAA Sweet 16 a year ago.

Coale returns four starters, including third team preseason All-American LaNeishea Caufield and preseason All-Big 12 selection Stacey Dales, and adds a pair of junior college All-American to this year's roster.

The Sooners open the 2000-2001 regular season at the Bertha Teague Classic in Tulsa (Nov. 17-18), followed by the elite Coaches vs. Cancer Challenge in Madison, Wis. (Nov. 22-24). OU will host Australia in its last exhibition game on Friday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m. at Lloyd Noble Center.
