NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma football program, Norman Public Schools and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be joining efforts at the OU-Texas Tech football game to sponsor the OU Football Holiday Food Drive. The food drive, which was the idea of Head Coach Bob Stoops and quarterback Josh Heupel, will benefit at least 200 Norman area families who will be designated by principals at Norman elementary schools.

"We're excited to have an opportunity to assist needy families in Norman during the holiday season," said Stoops. "Last year, Josh Heupel worked with a church on his own to provide food for Thanksgiving for several local families. We heard about it, and thought we could build on his efforts and help more people by utilizing a game to collect food and contributions. It's an ideal way for our football program to give back to the community, and I'm confident our Sooner family will rally together to help Sooners in need."

Food donations may be dropped off at four locations at Memorial Stadium prior to the game on Saturday. Drop-off locations will be near Gates 1, 7, 19 and 44. Any canned food items will be accepted at those locations until kickoff at 2:30 p.m. Canned food items will also be accepted at all three Norman Wright's IGA stores until Tuesday, Nov. 21.

Cash donations will also be accepted by mailing to the following address:
