Head Coach Bob Stoops
On the game:
"It was a good, solid victory. I'm really proud of the way our players played, particularly in the second half. I knew we would experience some adversity somewhere during the game."
On Kansas State:
"Hats off to an excellent football team. Everyone knows Kansas State is excellent and a well-disciplined, hard-playing football team."
On scoring points versus Kansas State:
"We both have excellent defenses and have been able to score points. We have been able to score points last year and most of this year. I can't say I'm totally surprised. We have an exceptional quarterback. We have great poise and confidence and accuracy. Our receivers did a great job getting open and our running game has come along. So we feel confident that we should score points."
On J.T. Thatcher's 93-yard kickoff return:
"Thatcher's kickoff return was a huge play in the game. It gave us the momentum back. It gave us a quick score. J.T. just does an exceptional job of running the ball. It was a big play in the game."
Wide Receiver Antwone Savage
On the importance of the game:
"I think it was a real important win. It was a really big team today. It shows we have confidence. We are out there playing our hearts out every game."
On the Kansas State defense:
"We knew that they were hard on the running game, so we had to open them up with the receiving game. I think our offense did a great job. We played hard."
Linebacker Rocky Calmus
On making a statement with the game:
"Hopefully, we know we haven't played our best games, but I think it will turn some eyes. You know, they are the number two team in the nation and we beat them out. The next step is number one and we have that in two weeks."
On the mood of the bench in the second half:
"Defensive-wise, we were up seven points, so we were still up. All we had to do was hold them and we win. That's what we were doing, keeping everything in front of us."
