NORMAN, Okla. - Members of the University of Oklahoma and Norman communities are invited to show their support for the Sooners prior to Saturday's Kansas State game at a "Sooner Send-Off" today on the OU Norman campus. The event is a highlight of Sooner Pride Week, proclaimed on Monday by OU President David Boren.
Sooner Send-Off will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the plaza area in front of the Barry Switzer Center on Jenkins Avenue, just north of Lindsey Street. The Sooner football team will depart the area at 4:50 p.m.
Jenkins Avenue from Lindsey to Brooks will be closed from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m. Access to the Sooner House lot will be allowed for those riding the team bus.
Parking is available in the Field House lot, the lot south of Gould Hall and the lot south of the stadium.
The eighth-ranked Sooners and second-ranked Wildcats will square off Saturday at 2:30 p.m. The game will be televised regionally by ABC.
